## Synopsis

WORKING!! (2010-2015) is a Japanese animated slice of life workplace comedy created for TOKYO MX, adapted from a seinen manga and produced by A-1 Pictures. Set in a family restaurant in Hokkaido, the story follows sixteen-year-old high school student Sōta Takanashi (voiced by Jun Fukuyama), who takes a part-time job among strange co-workers. Popura Taneshima (Kana Asumi), a high school girl who is a year older than Sōta yet mistaken for a middle schooler, provides much of the chaos, while store manager Kyoko Shirafuji (Kumiko Watanabe), a twenty-eight-year-old who avoids doing any real work, anchors the deadpan absurdity. Across three seasons of thirty-nine episodes, the engine is simple: shifts, customer quirks, and the small social tangles that arise when coworkers quietly develop crushes on one another. Each episode is largely self-contained, built from brisk everyday incidents rather than a single arc. The tone is breezy, warm and wry, with a cozy undercurrent of unrequited longing. Fans of Silver Spoon, Non Non Biyori and The Office will find resonance in its ensemble humor and gentle observation of ordinary working life.
