## Synopsis

Detentionaire (2011-2014) is a Canadian animated comedy mystery series created by Daniel Bryan Franklin and Charles Johnston for Teletoon, produced with Nelvana. Freshman Lee Ping (voiced by Jonathan Tan) is sentenced to a year of detention at A Nigma High after being blamed for the biggest prank in the school's history, even though he is innocent. Each day he must sneak out of a heavily fortified detention room, infiltrate a different social clique, and piece together another fragment of the sprawling prank puzzle. Alongside him are his friend Biffy Goldstien (Zachary Bennett) and the scheming Principal General Barrage (Seán Cullen), whose authority hangs over every scheme. The engine of the show is cat-and-mouse sleuthing: each episode trades a clue for a new social risk, and the stakes build season by season across four seasons and fifty-three episodes. The tone is playful and brisk, with breezy gags sitting on top of a genuine conspiracy thread that rewards attention. Fans of Gravity Falls, Scooby-Doo, Where Are You! and Recess will find a similar mix of kid-friendly humor and puzzle-box intrigue, set in a bustling, cartoonishly exaggerated North American high school.
