## Synopsis

Twisted (2013-2014) is an American teen mystery drama created for ABC Family, a single-season limited run of nineteen episodes that was canceled before its story could finish. Avan Jogia plays Danny Desai, a charismatic sixteen-year-old who returns to his hometown after five years in juvenile detention hoping to rebuild his friendships with Jo Masterson (Maddie Hasson) and Lacey Porter (Kylie Bunbury), his childhood best friends. Their loyalty is tested when a fellow student is found dead in her home and Danny instantly becomes the prime suspect. The engine of each episode is the question of whether he is truly unforgivable or a victim persecuted for secrets of his own, and the town spirals into a frenzy of suspicion, whispered rumor and shifting alliances. Denise Richards and Sam Robards appear among the parents whose own households carry buried tensions. The mood is suspenseful and moody, with a tense teen drama register and a steady drip of red herrings that keep viewers guessing. Fans of Pretty Little Liars and Riverdale will find resonance in its blend of adolescent drama and murder mystery.
