## Synopsis

The Muppet Show is a family comedy series created by Jim Henson that ran for five seasons and 120 episodes. Kermit the Frog serves as the earnest host and producer, trying to hold together a weekly variety hour while the troupe's temperaments constantly threaten to derail it. Miss Piggy brings diva ambition, Fozzie Bear delivers groan-worthy stand-up, and Gonzo performs increasingly outlandish stunts. Each episode is built from a musical guest star, sketches, and musical numbers, with the backstage chaos providing the through-line. The engine of the show is the gap between a polished performance and the anarchy behind the curtain. The tone is warm, nostalgic and playful, with gentle slapstick and affectionate parody of old-fashioned entertainment. Set in a stylized theatre rather than a specific era, it offers a comforting, all-ages viewing experience where the puppet characters feel like real people with real egos. Fans of Sesame Street, The Carol Burnett Show and Laugh-In will find familiar delights here.
