## Synopsis

Porque el Amor Manda (2012-2013) is a Mexican telenovela created by Claudia Sánchez, Jörg Hiller and Catalina Coy for Las Estrellas, produced by Televisa. Fernando Colunga and Blanca Soto lead the story as the romantic protagonists, with Carmen Salinas, Claudia Álvarez, Erick Elías and Julissa among the principal cast. The series is a remake of the Colombian telenovela El secretario and runs for a single season of 182 episodes at roughly forty-two minutes each. Its engine is a central romance that keeps colliding with rivalries, family pressures and a steady supply of betrayals and reversals, as characters maneuver for love, status and revenge. Each episode pushes the central pairing closer together and then pulls them apart again, building the classic melodramatic cycle of longing and obstruction. The tone is sentimental, theatrical and emotionally heightened, with comic relief arriving through the household characters. Fans of La usurpadora, Rubí and Yo soy Betty, la fea will find the same mix of class-crossing romance, rival-driven plotting and soapy spectacle. Set in contemporary Mexico, it is a classic long-form romance built for viewers who love an unhurried, emotionally excessive story.
