## Synopsis

Atlantis (2013-2015) is a British fantasy adventure series created by Howard Overman for BBC One. Jack Donnelly plays Jason, a castaway who washes up on the shores of an ancient land and must navigate a world of legend. He is joined by Robert Emms as the inventive Pythagoras and Mark Addy as the brawny Hercules, with Aiysha Hart as Ariadne and Sarah Parish as Pasiphae adding royal intrigue. Each episode follows the trio on a new mission through the palaces and streets of the city, where they encounter snake-haired Medusa, the labyrinth-dwelling Minotaur and battles with the dead. The series runs across two seasons and twenty-five episodes, mixing episodic peril with a wider search for answers and salvation. Its tone is adventurous and playful, with a light, swashbuckling energy grounded in Greek mythology. Fans of Hercules: The Legendary Journeys, Xena: Warrior Princess and Merlin will find a similar blend of heroic myth, mythical creatures and accessible family-friendly fantasy in a world where the old stories come to life.
