## Synopsis

Dead Man's Walk (1996) is a American western miniseries created by Larry McMurtry and produced by Hallmark Entertainment, a three-episode prequel to the acclaimed Lonesome Dove. Its protagonists are young Texas Rangers Augustus McCrae (David Arquette) and Woodrow F. Call (Jonny Lee Miller), whose friendship is tested as they ride through dangerous territory. Caleb Cobb (F. Murray Abraham) and Captain Salazar (Edward James Olmos) are among the principal figures who shape their path, while Jennifer Garner and Eric Schweig also appear in the cast. The engine of the story is the rangers' fight to survive hostile terrain, hard campaigns and the brutal demands of frontier law, with each episode built around a new peril. Set in the 1820s American frontier of Texas, the miniseries carries a rugged, elegiac western tone shaped by loyalty and hardship. Fans of Lonesome Dove, Deadwood and Hell on Wheels will find resonance in its sweeping landscapes, rough camaraderie and grounded violence. It is a single-season, three-episode limited series that rewards viewers who enjoy old-fashioned frontier storytelling.
