## Synopsis

The Wonder Years (1988-1993) is an American coming of age comedy-drama created by Neal Marlens and Carol Black for ABC. Fred Savage plays Kevin Arnold, a sensitive suburban boy navigating puberty, first girlfriends, and friendships, while Dan Lauria and Alley Mills play his earnest parents Jack and Norma and Danica McKellar plays his longtime crush Winnie Cooper. Daniel Stern supplies the adult Kevin's voiceover, looking back on his younger self with affectionate hindsight. Each episode is built from small domestic and school-yard dilemmas: a schoolyard rivalry, a crush that goes unspoken, a brother's antics, a family dinner gone awry. The show spans six seasons and 115 episodes, a continuing story rather than a case of the week, moving through the 1960s and 1970s with period detail that gives its humor a wistful edge. Its tone blends gentle laughter with a bittersweet ache, warm and sincere without being saccharine. Fans of Happy Days, Freaks and Geeks, and The Wonderful Years will find similar resonance in the nostalgia for adolescence and the steady love of a family home.
