## Synopsis

The Zeta Project (2001-2002) is a American animated science fiction series created by Bob Goodman for The WB. Set in a futuristic America, it follows Zeta, a renegade government-designed robot voiced by Diedrich Bader, and Ro, his fifteen-year-old streetwise companion voiced by Julie Nathanson. Pursued by federal agents Bennet (Kurtwood Smith), Lee (Lauren Tom) and West (Michael Rosenbaum), the pair must stay one step ahead of the people who built Zeta and want him back. The engine of the show is simple and brisk: each half-hour episode puts the fugitive duo into a new chase, a new hideout, or a new tangle with the authorities, while Ro's street smarts and Zeta's machine capabilities keep them alive. Across two seasons and twenty-six episodes it builds a serialized thread of pursuit and loyalty aimed squarely at younger viewers. Produced by Warner Bros. Animation as part of the DC animated universe tradition, the series carries a bright, energetic action-adventure tone with a wistful undercurrent about a machine learning what it means to be a friend. Fans of Batman Beyond and Teen Titans will find a kindred spirit in its futuristic cartoon adventure and youthful heroism. The series concluded after its second season.
