## Synopsis

Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman (1993-1997) is an American network superhero drama created by Deborah Joy LeVine for ABC. Dean Cain plays Clark Kent, a mild-mannered reporter at the Daily Planet who is secretly Superman, opposite Teri Hatcher as the sharp, skeptical Lois Lane, with Lane Smith as their gruff editor Perry White and K Callan and Eddie Jones as the Kents, his adoptive parents in Smallville. Across four seasons the engine is a comic juggling act: Clark tries to keep his heroics hidden while pursuing Lois, who keeps chasing the stories that his double life makes awkward. Each episode mixes a newsroom case, a super-powered threat or a personal complication, and the growing romance between the two reporters carries the series from one installment to the next. The lavish production gives the Metropolis streets a glossy, sun-washed look, and the tone stays breezy, warm and playful, with the earnestness of a classic comic hero softened by romantic banter and bumbling disguises. Fans of Smallville, Superman: The Animated Series and Moonlighting will find the same mix of heroics, flirtation and lighthearted workplace comedy. The show is set in the modern-day era of its broadcast with a present-tense newsroom feel.
