## Synopsis

Extraordinary is a British superhero comedy created by Emma Moran for Disney+. Mairead Tyers plays Jen, a twenty-something Londoner living in a world where everyone manifests a power on their eighteenth birthday, except her. Sofia Oxenham as Carrie and Bilal Hasna as Kash anchor the sharp, crude banter that surrounds her restless search for a gift that may never come. Each episode is a fresh attempt, mishap or detour in a city full of people whose powers have shaped their careers and relationships. Across two seasons of half-hour episodes, a continuing thread of ambition and embarrassment runs through the wilder set pieces. The tone is warm and irreverent, sincere beneath its profanity, and its central theme is the quiet dignity of an ordinary life. Fans of The Umbrella Academy, Fleabag and Derry Girls will find resonance in its mix of superhero premise and awkward, heartfelt British comedy.
