## Synopsis

Grand Hotel (2011-2013) is a Spanish mystery drama series created by Ramón Campos and Gema R. Neira for Antena 3. A young man arrives at an isolated luxury hotel in the wilderness to investigate his sister's disappearance, but he soon finds himself drawn to Alicia Alarcón (Amaia Salamanca), the seductive daughter of the hotel's owner. Yon González plays Julio Olmedo, whose search for the truth runs straight into a dangerous romance across social classes. Every corridor and guest room hides a secret, and the staff and residents are never quite who they appear to be, so each episode peels back another layer of suspicion. Pedro Alonso and Adriana Ozores add further tension as figures whose motives remain unclear. The series runs across three seasons and thirty-nine hour-long episodes, mixing soapy romance with a serialized whodunit that rewards close attention. Its tone is sultry, melodramatic and suspenseful, with a steady undercurrent of betrayal. Fans of Downton Abbey for its class-conscious drama, and of Twin Peaks for its secretive small-community mystery, will find resonance here. Set in the Spanish countryside in the early twentieth century, it balances lush period atmosphere with a restless hunger for answers.
