## Synopsis

Total Recall 2070 (1999) is a Canadian and German co-produced science fiction series created by Art Monterastelli, first broadcast on CHCH-TV and Showtime. Set in a high-tech future, it follows a police detective, James Calley (Matthew Bennett), working alongside David Hume (Michael Easton) and Olivia Hume (Cynthia Preston) as they investigate crimes entangled with androids and manufactured memories. The engine of the series is the blurred line between human and machine, with each case forcing characters to question what they remember and who they really are. Across a single season of twenty-two hour-long episodes, the show moves through procedural investigations shaped by a corporate world where experiences can be bought and implanted. Its look draws on the rain-soaked, neon-tinged future noir of Blade Runner, and its tone is paranoid, moody and reflective. Filmed in Toronto, it draws inspiration from Philip K. Dick's writing, and fans of Blade Runner, Total Recall and Dark Angel will find resonance in its cyberpunk unease and questions of identity.
