## Synopsis

Hyperventilation (2017) is a Korean animated miniseries created by Lewin and produced by ABJ Company, released on the LAFTEL and Heavenly platforms. Across seven very short episodes of about two minutes each, the story follows Myeongyi, a painfully shy young man who attends a winter high school reunion party mainly to see Seonho, a classmate he has secretly adored for years. Voiced by Park Joo-gwang as Myeong-yi and Choi Se-jun as San-ho, the two leads give the series its emotional center. Myeongyi struggles to enjoy the noisy gathering, and his small escapes, like slipping outside to smoke, become the moments where the drama tightens. Seonho's decision to follow him turns a casual evening into a charged private encounter. The engine of the show is simple: a quiet, anxious longing that has to find words in a crowded room. The tone is tender, wistful and intimate, with a cold winter atmosphere that makes every pause feel heavy. Fans of Heartstopper, Given and Blue Period will find a similar resonance in its gentle queer romance and quiet emotional restraint. Set in a present-day Korean winter, it is a compact, mood-driven BL romance that rewards patient attention.
