## Synopsis

Over There (2005-2006) is a gritty American war drama series created by Steven Bochco and Chris Gerolmo for FX, running one season of thirteen one-hour episodes. Its engine is a U.S. Army unit sent to Iraq on its first tour of duty, following soldiers including Pfc. Bo Rider (Josh Henderson), Pvt. Frank 'Dim' Dumphy (Luke Macfarlane) and Sgt. Chris 'Scream' Silas (Erik Palladino) as they face ambushes, fear and the daily grind of the front lines. Each episode cuts between the combat zone and the homes these soldiers left behind, where spouses and relatives such as Terry Rider (Sprague Grayden) and Vanessa Dumphy (Brigid Brannagh) struggle with separation and uncertainty. The tone is intense, raw and emotional, with a visceral handheld immediacy and a steady undercurrent of dread. The result is a serialized portrait of how war reaches both the battlefield and the living room, an approach that fans of Band of Brothers and Generation Kill will find familiar. Its brutal realism and its focus on ordinary people under pressure make it a demanding watch for viewers who want war drama with emotional weight.
