## Synopsis

Just Shoot Me! (1997-2003) is an American network sitcom created by Steven Levitan for NBC, a seven-season workplace comedy running 148 episodes. Set inside a high-style fashion magazine, the show follows Maya Gallo (Laura San Giacomo), a quick-tempered but gifted writer who has been hired by her father, the magazine's owner Jack Gallo (George Segal). Her ambitions collide with the vanity of former model Nina Van Horn (Wendie Malick), the charm of photographer Elliot DiMauro (Enrico Colantoni), and the disrespect of Dennis Finch (David Spade), the father's glorified secretary who treats everyone with barbed indifference. The engine is simple and reliable: every week a story assignment, a office rivalry, or a romantic entanglement pits these egos against one another in fast multi-camera scenes built on snappy, insult-laced dialogue. The tone is breezy, irreverent and sardonic, with a gloss of Manhattan publishing glamour that the writing happily punctures. Fans of 30 Rock, Ugly Betty and Murphy Brown will find a similar appetite for ensemble office wit and caustic character comedy.
