## Synopsis

Robin Hood (2006-2009) is a British BBC One adventure series created by Dominic Minghella and Foz Allan, running three seasons and 39 ninety-minute episodes. Jonas Armstrong plays Robin of Loxley, a crusader who returns from years of fighting alongside King Richard to find his estates seized and himself branded an outlaw. He gathers a ragtag band of companions, including Little John (Gordon Kennedy), Much (Sam Troughton), Will Scarlet (Harry Lloyd) and Djaq (Anjali Jay), and together they steal from the wealthy and give to the poor. Their engine is constant cat-and-mouse conflict with the scheming Sheriff of Nottingham (Keith Allen) and the ruthless Sir Guy of Gisbourne (Richard Armitage), whose plots keep forcing the outlaws to scatter, regroup and improvise. Each episode is a self-contained caper of ambush, disguise and sword fighting, while the broader struggle for the English countryside builds across the seasons. Set in medieval England, the series blends rousing swashbuckling with warm camaraderie and a playful, irreverent streak. Fans of The Musketeers and Merlin will find resonance in its energetic period adventure and loyal band of heroes.
