## Synopsis

Garfield and Friends (1988-1994) is an American animated comedy series created by Jim Davis for CBS. It follows the lazy, lasagna-loving orange cat Garfield (voiced by Lorenzo Music), his good-natured dog Odie (Gregg Berger), and their long-suffering owner Jon Arbuckle (Thom Huge) through a string of household misadventures built on slapstick gags and deadpan one-liners. Garfield's schemes to avoid exercise, secure food, and dodge the vet or diet provide the engine of most episodes, while Jon's frustrations and Odie's cheerful obliviousness keep the squabbling household in motion. Running across seven seasons and roughly 363 episodes, the show is a series of short, self-contained vignettes rather than a continuing story, so episodes can be watched in any order. A parallel storyline follows Orson the pig and his fellow farm animals, adding a rural counterpart with its own sweet, light-hearted mischief. Its tone is cozy, breezy and gently sardonic, a comforting bedtime-friendly cartoon for families. Fans of The Simpsons, Peanuts and The Smurfs will find the same warm, gag-driven household comedy here.
