## Synopsis

Brooklyn Nine-Nine (2013-2021) is an American single-camera workplace sitcom created by Daniel J. Goor and Michael Schur for NBC, later continued on FOX. Andy Samberg plays Jake Peralta, an immature but gifted detective in a Brooklyn precinct whose comfortable slacker life is upended when the stern, precise Captain Raymond Holt (Andre Braugher) takes command. Melissa Fumero plays the driven Amy Santiago, Terry Crews plays the gentle, devoted Terry Jeffords, and Stephanie Beatriz plays the guarded Rosa Diaz, while Joe Lo Truglio and Chelsea Peretti round out the squad. The engine is simple and funny: Jake wants to stay the cool guy while his colleagues push him to take the job seriously, and each episode pairs a light, case-of-the-week investigation with escalating personal rivalries and romances. The show runs across eight seasons of brisk, joke-dense episodes that build into a continuing story of friendship and growth. Set in a modern New York City precinct, it has a warm, quotable, irreverent tone with real emotional payoffs. Fans of Parks and Recreation, The Office and Psych will find much to enjoy here.
