## Synopsis

Eureka (2006-2012) is an American science fiction comedy-drama created by Jaime Paglia and Andrew Cosby for Syfy. Deputy U.S. Marshal Jack Carter (Colin Ferguson) wrecks his car and finds himself stranded in the rustic Pacific Northwest town of Eureka, a community where the government has quietly relocated the country's brightest minds and their families. Carter, bright and methodical, tries to restore order whenever a half-finished invention or scientific experiment spins out of control, and he soon learns one of the nation's best-kept secrets. Alongside him are town sheriff Allison Blake (Salli Richardson-Whitfield), who keeps the peace with a practical hand, and the brilliant but unpredictable Henry Deacon (Joe Morton), whose mechanical ingenuity drives many of the town's more dangerous experiments. The five-season series is built around a case-of-the-week format, with each episode delivering a new scientific mishap that stretches the town's fragile calm. Its tone is warm, witty and whimsical, with a family-friendly sensibility that balances gentle humor against the wonder of invention. Fans of Warehouse 13, Fringe and Stargate SG-1 will find similar pleasures in its blend of clever gadgetry, small town charm and lighthearted science fiction adventure.
