## Synopsis

The Emperor's New School (2006-2008) is an American animated family comedy series created by Mark Dindal for Disney Channel, serving as a spin-off continuation of the feature film The Emperor's New Groove. Self-centered teen Kuzco (voiced by J.P. Manoux) must survive the trials of an Incan public school and pass every class if he wants to be officially crowned emperor. His friend Malina (voiced by Jessica DiCicco) keeps his attitude in check, while the scheming Yzma, disguised as Principal Amzy, and her dim-witted sidekick Kronk (voiced by Patrick Warburton) work to make sure he fails. Kronk and Yzma's antics are the engine of the show, with each episode built around a new classroom obstacle, a school social scene, or a plot to sabotage Kuzco's grades. Across two seasons and ninety short episodes of roughly twenty-three minutes each, the series keeps a breezy, playful register, blending slapstick, sarcastic banter and a fish-out-of-water premise set in an ancient South American empire. Fans of The Emperor's New Groove, Recess and Dexter's Laboratory will find a similar mix of family-friendly animated sitcom humor and a memorable villain team.
