## Synopsis

The New Batman Adventures (1997-1999) is an American animated superhero series created by Rich Fogel, Paul Dini and Bruce Timm for The WB. Picking up years after Batman: The Animated Series, it follows the vigilante Batman, voiced by Kevin Conroy, as he fights crime in Gotham City alongside a crimefighting cadre of Nightwing, Robin and Batgirl. The engine of each episode is a clash with Gotham's classic super-villains, from icy schemers to brutal brawlers, as the heroes track down criminals, unravel plots and protect the city from its rogues gallery. Its two seasons, totaling twenty-four episodes, are built mostly as self-contained action episodes with a shared continuity running underneath. The show is set in a stylized, art-deco version of present-day Gotham, a noir city of rain-slick rooftops and shadowy streets. Its tone is bold and energetic, mixing brisk action with moody atmosphere and a warm, earnest sense of camaraderie among its heroes. Fans of Batman: The Animated Series, Superman: The Animated Series and Justice League will find resonance in its blend of dark crime noir and accessible superhero spectacle.
