## Synopsis

Sweet Life (2001-2005) is a Turkish television remake of the American sitcom The Jeffersons, produced for Show TV and created by Haluk Özenç and Bora Tekay. Ihsan Yıldırım (Haluk Bilginer), a cleaning-business owner whose fortunes have suddenly boomed, insists his household leave their plain neighborhood for Etiler, a wealthy Istanbul district full of fancy folks. His wife Sevinç (Türkan Şoray) and son Başar (Emre Altuğ) must adjust to a luxurious high rise where every new neighbor and social custom becomes a source of friction. The engine of the show is Ihsan's stubborn hope that money will solve his problems, and the gap between his pride and the reality of his new surroundings. Başar's struggle to win his father's approval of his marriage into a Turkish-Greek family adds a warm interfaith thread, with Neco and Çolpan İlhan as the Kasapoğlu in-laws. The series runs two seasons across 106 episodes of sixty minutes each, built as episodic comedy of household mishaps rather than a single continuing plot. Its tone is breezy, cozy and affectionate, with humor drawn from class difference and family quarrels. Fans of The Jeffersons, All in the Family and My Big Fat Greek Wedding will find the same comic warmth in its domestic chaos.
