## Synopsis

Dexter: Early Cuts (2009-2012) is a American web series prequel crime drama created by Lauren Gussis for YouTube. Animated in very short episodes, it follows vigilante serial killer Dexter Morgan (voiced by Michael C. Hall) as he works through his earlier kills and sharpens the methods that later define him after the death of his adoptive father, Harry. Each brief episode is a compact case of stalking, killing, and rationalizing, with the engine of the story driven by Dexter's need to channel a dark compulsion within a moral code Harry taught him. Alex Timmons (voiced by Shawn Shultz) appears in a supporting role among the people who cross his path. The show runs three seasons across twenty-four short episodes, a serialized origin story that unfolds in a present-day American setting of ordinary streets and shadowed corners. Its tone is deadpan and cold, with a procedural calm that makes violence feel matter-of-fact and unsettling. Themes of compulsion, justice, and the fragile line between predator and protector run through each installment. Fans of Dexter, Archer, and Better Call Saul will find resonance in its anti-hero focus, ironic detachment, and prequel storytelling.
