## Synopsis

Andy Barker, P.I. (2007) is a single-season American network sitcom created by Conan O'Brien and Jonathan Groff for NBC. Andy Richter plays Certified Public Accountant Andy Barker, a mild, earnest man who is mistaken for the former tenant of his office, a private eye, and reluctantly begins taking on investigations he is poorly equipped to handle. Clea Lewis appears as his wife Jenny, grounding his domestic life while his new sideline spills into awkward, escalating situations. Harve Presnell, Tony Hale and Marshall Manesh round out the supporting cast, with Ed Asner and Amy Sedaris among the guest players. Each twenty-two-minute episode is largely a case of the week, built on the comic gap between Andy's accounting habits and the seedy demands of detective work. The show plays with mistaken identity, deadpan awkwardness and the mundane texture of an office that houses a crime-solving sideline. Its tone is breezy and gently absurd, with a warm, low-stakes comedic register. Fans of Monk, Psych and Party Down will find resonance in its everyman sleuth premise and offbeat workplace humor. Six episodes aired, and the run ended without a resolved arc.
