## Synopsis

The Freckled Boy (Pistruiatul) (1973-1974) is a Romanian television miniseries created by Francisc Munteanu for TVR. Its title character, a sharp street kid nicknamed for his freckles and played by Costel Băloiu, accidentally becomes part of a clandestine organization whose choices will shape the future of his country. The engine of the story is his scrambling survival instinct: each of his assignments pulls him deeper into a web of secret missions while the authorities closely watch every move. Andrei, played by Sergiu Nicolaescu, and a police commissioner played by Zephi Alșec add pressure and allegiance from different sides of the game. Set in Royal Romania during the Second World War, the ten-episode run unfolds across tense urban streets, safehouses and interrogation rooms, with a brisk weekly rhythm. The tone mixes youthful bravado with a wary, grounded atmosphere and moments of warmth. Fans of Hogan's Heroes, Lupin and other stories of a young outsider slipping into dangerous intrigue will find resonance here, in a vintage family-friendly adventure that treats history with a light touch.
