## Synopsis

Yeni Hayat (2020) is a Turkish national-television thriller miniseries created for Kanal D. Across nine two-hour episodes, former maroon beret captain Adem Şahin (Serkan Çayoğlu) leaves Special Forces hoping for a quiet life with his wife Nevin (Nilperi Şahinkaya) and young daughter Ece. He accepts what looks like an easy bodyguard assignment: protecting Yasemin Karatan (Melisa Aslı Pamuk), the young wife of wealthy businessman Timur Karatan (Tayanç Ayaydın). The engine of the series is the tension between a soldier's instinct to protect and a family thrust into a glittering, unfamiliar elite world where the danger is harder to read than any battlefield. Each episode builds the sense that the job is not what it appeared to be, with the household's power dynamics and hidden pressures closing in around the Şahin family. The mood is tense and anxious, with a protective, domestic emotional core. It is a contained, closed-loop story rather than a sprawling saga, playing out over a single season. Fans of The Bodyguard, Hostages and Kurtlar Vadisi will find resonance in its blend of protective heroism, domestic stakes and suspense.
