## Synopsis

Crisis (2014) is a American political thriller series created by Rand Ravich for NBC. Dermot Mulroney plays Francis Gibson, a figure caught at the center of a sprawling plot, alongside Rachael Taylor as Susie Dunn, Lance Gross as Marcus Finley and Michael Beach as FBI Director Olsen. When Washington's most powerful players are pulled into an international conspiracy, an unlikely puppeteer begins threatening the people they hold most dear, forcing CEOs and the President of the United States to comply. The engine of the series is the pressure of personal stakes: each episode tightens the vise on a principal figure, as investigators and officials race to identify the hidden manipulator before another loved one is endangered. The thirteen-hour run is a single continuing story rather than a case of the week, told across one complete season of 60-minute episodes. The tone is tense, paranoid and propulsive, with a grim undercurrent of helplessness as the powerful discover their protection is fragile. Set in contemporary Washington and its corridors of influence, the series sits within the lineage of network political thrillers. Fans of 24, Scandal and Designated Survivor will find resonance in its blend of government intrigue, moral pressure and suspense built on the vulnerability of those in charge.
