## Synopsis

Would I Lie to You? (2007-2026) is a British comedy panel show created by Peter Holmes for BBC One, now a long-running returning series with nineteen seasons. Team captains Lee Mack and David Mitchell lead two guests each in a battle of wits, and host Rob Brydon keeps the contest moving. The engine of each episode is simple: every person must reveal embarrassing facts and outrageous fabrications, and the opposing team must work out which tall tales are false and which fantastic facts are true. Rounds such as Home Truths, This Is My and Quickfire Lies give each half hour a predictable shape with plenty of room for banter, teasing and comic exaggeration. The series is a light, affectionate, consistently playful affair, with a warm and witty mood that rewards a relaxed evening of laughter. Its tone and format sit in the tradition of British panel shows, and fans of Have I Got News for You, Mock the Week and 8 Out of 10 Cats Does Countdown will find a similar blend of sharp wit, celebrity play and competitive banter.
