## Synopsis

Extreme Ghostbusters (1997) is an American animated action comedy series created by Jeff Kline and Richard Raynis and syndicated to broadcast television as a single-season run of 40 episodes. Set in New York City a decade after the original Ghostbusters saved the city, it follows Egon Spengler (voiced by Maurice LaMarche), now a university lecturer in paranormal studies, and his loyal assistant Janine Melnitz (voiced by Pat Musick) as they search for a new team. Their recruits are four teenage students: Kylie Griffin (voiced by Tara Strong), an encyclopedic occult expert; Eduardo Rivera (voiced by Rino Romano), a laid-back slacker; Garrett Miller (voiced by Jason Marsden), a fiery wheelchair-using athlete; and Roland Jackson (voiced by Alfonso Ribeiro), a gentle mechanical whiz. Each episode pits the young crew against demons, ghouls and goblins, with Zuul's return driving the larger threat, while the old Slimer joins in for comic relief. The mood is upbeat, playful and brisk, with gadget-driven action and sly pop-culture humor aimed at families. Fans of The Real Ghostbusters, Scooby-Doo, Where Are You! and Teen Titans will find a similar blend of spooky monsters, lighthearted banter and young heroes.
