## Synopsis

Plats bruts (1999-2002) is a Catalan-language Spanish sitcom created by Joel Joan for TV3. Jordi Sánchez plays Josep Lopes and Joel Joan plays David Güell, two friends whose everyday life and shared misadventures give the show its engine, while Mònica Glaenzel, Anna Maria Barbany and Pau Durà fill out the wider circle of recurring characters around them. Across six seasons and seventy-three episodes of roughly twenty-three minutes each, the show runs on short, self-contained comic situations rather than a single continuing plot, so each episode is built from a fresh misunderstanding, a small social embarrassment or a домашний mishap that the friends must talk their way out of. Its humor is conversational and affectionate, with a sardonic, wry register and a warm sense of camaraderie underneath the bickering. Fans of Friends, Father Ted and Peep Show will find resonance in its blend of banter, awkward social comedy and close male friendship. The series is set in a contemporary urban Catalan milieu of the late 1990s and early 2000s, and it is a light, easy watch that rewards viewers who enjoy character-driven comedy and the rhythms of Catalan speech.
