## Synopsis

Almost Human (2013-2014) is an American science fiction police drama created by J. H. Wyman for FOX. Detective John Kennex (Karl Urban) returns to a futuristic police force after a 17-month coma, and he must work alongside Dorian (Michael Ealy), a discontinued android whose emotional responses are unexpected. Under a city mandate that every officer partner with a robot, the two investigate crimes while Kennex adjusts to new colleagues, including Valerie Stahl (Minka Kelly) and Maldonado (Lili Taylor). The engine of the show is the uneasy partnership itself: a damaged man distrustful of machines and a machine learning what it means to feel, bridging their differences through case-driven action. Each episode is built around a standalone investigation in a crowded, high-tech city, with the broader arc gradually expanding around the partners. Its tone blends propulsive action with wry, humane character moments and a sense of melancholy about what it means to be human. Fans of Blade Runner 2049, Person of Interest and Fringe will find resonance in its mix of near future noir atmosphere, procedural crime and speculative science fiction. The single season of thirteen episodes was cut short, leaving its central questions open.
