## Synopsis

Gang Related (2014) is an American crime drama series created by Chris Morgan for FOX. Detective Ryan Lopez (Ramón Rodríguez) is a rising star in Los Angeles' elite Gang Task Force, but long before he became a cop he pledged allegiance to Los Angelicos, a powerful Latino gang. When Ryan's best friend and police partner is killed by a notorious gang member, he teams up with longtime Task Force member Cassius Green (RZA), who has long fought the city's war on organized crime. Their working relationship pulls them through the streets they know too well, where police and gangsters share tactics, contacts and loyalties. Jay Hernandez, Sung Kang and Terry O'Quinn appear among the principal cast. The thirteen-episode run is a single serialized season told as one continuing story in which each case deepens the moral tangle. The series is set in present-day Los Angeles and carries a gritty, tense, violent atmosphere shaped by the question of who can really win battles on the street. Fans of The Shield, Narcos and Training Day will find resonance in its corrupt-adjacent police world, blurred allegiances and street-level brutality. Its cancellation left the central story unfinished.
