## Synopsis

Dame Chocolate (2007) is a Spanish-language telenovela produced by Telemundo in the United States. Its sweet, simple heroine Rosita, played by Génesis Rodríguez, leaves rural Mexico for Miami to fulfill her destiny in the chocolate business, and her journey pulls her into the orbit of the wealthy Remington family, led by Bruce Remington (Carlos Ponce) and Grace Remington (Kristina Lilley). Her path crosses with family rivalries, romantic entanglements and a web of hidden identities that drive the melodrama forward. The show is a single 150-episode run airing from March to October 2007, built as a classic soap with case-free episodes where each one turns on a new romantic complication, a business setback or a family confrontation. Set in present day Miami, it is a bright, comic telenovela with a warm, wistful, sincere tone, where the emotional stakes stay high and the mood stays hopeful. Its blend of fish out of water comedy and rags to riches romance gives it the feel of a Latin American soap transplanted into the United States. Viewers who enjoy Ugly Betty, The Beverly Hillbillies and Jane the Virgin will find the same mix of romance, family drama and cheerful melodrama here.
