## Synopsis

Terrahawks (1983-1986) is a British-American science fiction series created by Gerry Anderson and Christopher Burr, produced by Anderson Burr Pictures and broadcast through London Weekend Television. It is a three-season puppet series of thirty-nine episodes, each about twenty-five minutes long, following the Terrahawks, an elite taskforce set in the year 2020 whose job is to protect Earth from invasion. Their chief enemy is Zelda, who commands a force of extraterrestrial androids and aliens, and the stories are built around each new threat arriving and being met with gadgets and craft. The series carries the signature miniature sensibility of Anderson's earlier work, with Thunderbirds and Captain Scarlet and the Mysterons as its clear ancestors, and its voice cast includes Denise Bryer as Zelda and Windsor Davies as Sergeant Major Zero. Its mood is brisk, playful and earnest, a kids' adventure built on bold machinery and a sense of wonder. Fans of Thunderbirds, Captain Scarlet and the Mysterons and Space: 1999 will find the same retro space-age charm here, shaped by the handmade craft of British televised puppetry.
