## Synopsis

Resurrection (2014-2015) is an American supernatural drama series created by Aaron Zelman for ABC. Set in the rural community of Arcadia, Missouri, the show follows townspeople whose deceased loved ones suddenly begin to reappear among them. Omar Epps plays J. Martin Bellamy, a figure whose own loss and questions drive much of the unease, while Frances Fisher as Lucille Langston and Kurtwood Smith as Henry Langston anchor a family caught between hope and dread. Matt Craven as Sheriff Fred Langston and Mark Hildreth as Pastor Tom Hale bring institutional authority and faith into the strain. Across two seasons and twenty-one episodes, the series moves through the practical and emotional consequences of the returns, with each episode building a grounded, small-town web of suspicion, grief, and reunion. Its tone is quiet and melancholic, with an eerie, unsettling atmosphere rather than outright horror. Fans of The Leftovers, Twin Peaks, and Les Revenants will find resonance in its patient, mystery-driven exploration of loss and the unknown. The series was canceled before its central questions were fully answered.
