## Synopsis

Second Chance (El Cuerpo del Deseo, 2005) is a Spanish-language telenovela produced by Telemundo and Film in Florida, created by Julio Jiménez. Mario Cimarro plays Salvador Cerinza, whose return from the dead sets the story in motion, while Lorena Rojas plays Isabel Arroyo, the beautiful widow whose past begins to unravel. Andrés García plays Pedro José Donoso and Vanessa Villela plays Ángela Donoso, with Erick Elías and Pablo Azar among the other principal figures tangled in the family's rivalries. The engine of the series is a man who comes back from the grave and must discover what his wife and those around him hid while he was gone, with each episode layering romantic confrontation, jealousy and new revelations. Told as a single run of 157 episodes, it is a limited-run melodrama rather than an open-ended soap. Its tone is heightened and emotional, driven by longing, betrayal and the pull of a second chance at love. Fans of Yo soy Betty, la fea, Verónica and Mirada de mujer will find resonance in its blend of romance, reincarnation and family intrigue.
