## Synopsis

Enemy's Enemy is a Swedish television spy miniseries adapted from the novels of Jan Guillou and set in cold war Sweden. Peter Haber stars as intelligence officer Carl Hamilton, who is drawn into a string of killings of Swedish military officers that appear to be the work of Soviet agents. As he pursues the case, he must determine which operations are real and which have been staged to provoke a confrontation. Maria Grip plays a colleague pulled into the investigation, while a circle of officials and officers surrounds him with competing agendas and quiet suspicions. The story unfolds through interrogations, government offices, hotel rooms and covert meetings rather than action set pieces, and its pace is steady and controlled. The atmosphere is tense, cold and paranoid, with a sense of institutional distrust running beneath nearly every conversation. The narrative favors moral ambiguity and the weight of secrets over spectacle, giving it the grounded dread of a Le Carre style world. Viewers who enjoy Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy, slow-burn political intrigue and stories of lone professionals against the state will find much to appreciate here.
