## Synopsis

La Petite Vie (1993-2023) is a Quebec French-language family sitcom created from the stage sketches of the comedy duo Ding et Dong, Claude Meunier and Serge Thériault, and aired on Radio-Canada. Meunier plays Aimé 'Ti-Mé' Paré and Thériault plays Jacquelyne 'Moman' Paré, the sparring parents at the centre of a loud, overlapping household, alongside Marc Labrèche as Rénald Paré and Marc Messier as Réjean Pinard. The engine of the show is everyday friction: petty rivalries, family obligations and small social embarrassments that escalate into comic chaos, with episodes built from sharp dialogue rather than set-piece gags. Its satire is rooted in Quebec social life, giving it a warm, observational and mischievous register. The series runs across five seasons and sixty-five episodes of roughly twenty-three minutes each, with its original run spanning the late 1990s and a final season in 2023. Fans of Married... with Children and the bickering domestic comedy Les Bons Becs will find resonance in its ensemble satire and biting wit.
