## Synopsis

Fallen Angels (1993-1995) is an American neo-noir anthology series created by William Horberg for Showtime. Hosted by Fay Friendly (Lynette Walden), the show presents self-contained crime stories set in somber Los Angeles in the years just after World War II and before the Kennedy era. Each episode follows a new cast of desperate, compromised figures, with Jennifer Grey, Gary Oldman, Danny Glover, Gary Busey and William L. Petersen among those appearing in the individual tales. The engine of each story is a small moral trap: a debt, a betrayal, a bad decision in a rain-slick street, and the characters who cannot step back from it. Though filmed in color, the episodes deliberately echo the tone, lighting and story conventions of 1940s and 1950s Hollywood film noir, so the mood feels smoky, fatalistic and melancholic. Across two seasons and fifteen half-hour episodes, the show leans on atmosphere and character rather than tidy resolution. Fans of Chinatown, L.A. Confidential and Tales from the Crypt will find resonance in its blend of hardboiled style and dark anthology storytelling.
