## Synopsis

From the New World (2012-2013) is a Japanese animated science fiction series produced by A-1 Pictures and broadcast on TV Asahi. Following the premise of a thousand years in the future, it centers on Saki Watanabe (voiced by Risa Taneda) and her childhood friends, including Satoru Asahina (Yuki Kaji), who live in a seemingly perfect community where a psychic ability to materialize anything has made technology obsolete. The engine of the story is Saki's discovery of a lost artifact, which cracks the calm facade and forces her and her companions to confront dangers they never knew existed while their choices may reshape the fate of everyone around them. The single season runs 25 episodes, with a linear, serialized structure in which each chapter peels back another layer of the community's past. Its atmosphere is eerie and contemplative, mixing wistful coming of age moments with unsettling dread and moral unease. Set in a distant future world rather than Earth's calendar, it carries the feel of a dark utopian mystery. Viewers who enjoy Attack on Titan, Made in Abyss and Psycho-Pass will find similar resonance in its mix of youthful perspective, sinister social order and philosophical weight.
