## Synopsis

Space Rangers (1993-1993) is an American futuristic science fiction drama created by Pen Densham and Trilogy Entertainment Group for CBS. Jeff Kaake plays Captain John Boon, leader of a crew of rangers whose work takes them across a future space station and the frontier beyond it, alongside Cary-Hiroyuki Tagawa as Zylyn and Gottfried John as Erich Weiss. Linda Hunt appears as Commander Chennault, giving the crew a stern authority figure to answer to. Each of its six hour-long episodes is built around a mission or a problem that tests the crew's loyalty and judgment, with the central engine being the ranger team's constant duty to protect people in dangerous and unfamiliar places. The series is a single season of six episodes, a short-lived network attempt at an ensemble space adventure. Its tone is earnest and adventurous, leaning on crew camaraderie and a sense of duty more than on spectacle. Fans of Star Trek: The Next Generation, Babylon 5 and Space: Above and Beyond will find a kindred sense of frontier optimism and military-style crew dynamics in this early 1990s space drama.
