## Synopsis

Storm of the Century (1999) is a American television miniseries created by Stephen King for ABC. Set on an isolated Maine island town during a fierce blizzard, the story follows Constable Mike Anderson (Tim Daly), who finds his quiet community shaken when a mysterious stranger named Andre Linoge (Colm Feore) arrives out of the snow. Linoge begins terrorizing the townspeople with a sinister demand, pressing residents to confront their secrets while the storm cuts off all outside help. Alongside Anderson, town manager Robbie Beals (Jeffrey DeMunn) and Molly Anderson (Debrah Farentino) struggle to keep order as fear spreads through the streets and homes. The three-episode run, each about ninety minutes, builds a claustrophobic, dread-filled atmosphere through the snowbound isolation and the slow unravelling of local trust. Its brooding, eerie tone and intimate small town focus recall the supernatural menace of Salem's Lot and the frozen paranoia of The Mist, with a Stephen King sensibility of ordinary people facing an unspeakable evil. Fans of atmospheric, character driven horror will find this miniseries absorbing and unsettling from start to finish.
