## Synopsis

Oreshura (2013) is a Japanese animated romantic comedy series created as a light novel adaptation and produced by A-1 Pictures for TOKYO MX. Its protagonist Eita Kidou (Ryota Osaka) enters high school determined to win a place at medical school and wants nothing to do with love, a resolve shaped by his parents' divorce. Returning from abroad, the school beauty Masuzu Natsukawa (Yukari Tamura) with her silver hair disrupts his plans, while his childhood friend Chiwa Harusaki (Chinatsu Akasaki) refuses to step aside without a fight. The engine of the series is a steady stream of awkward encounters, jealous confrontations and misunderstandings that pile up as each rival pushes for Eita's attention. Its single season of thirteen episodes plays out as a light seinen harem comedy, where each episode is built from everyday school life, rivalries and small domestic moments. The tone is breezy and teasing, with a lively, cheerful surface and an undercurrent of genuine emotional tug around the childhood bond. Fans of Love Hina, Rent-A-Girlfriend and Oregairu will find familiar territory in its mix of school setting, romantic rivalry and reluctant hero comedy.
