## Synopsis

Sarah (2005) is an Egyptian television drama series created by Mahdy Youssef and broadcast on EMPC TV. Its heroine Sarah (Hanan Turk) has a mind whose development stopped at a very young age, and after she slips into a coma that lasts for years, a dedicated young doctor decides to wake her. The engine of the series is the bond that grows once she returns to consciousness, as the doctor, played by Ahmed Rizq as Hassan, finds himself falling for her without knowing what he is signing up for. The story unfolds across a single season of thirty-two episodes, a self-contained arc built from everyday domestic scenes, hospital visits and the reactions of the family and acquaintances who surround her. Supporting performances come from Sawsan Badr as Raafa, Tarek Lotfy as Khaled and Ragaa Al-Giddawy as Dr. Fallak Mansour, shaping a warm circle of caregivers and rivals. The tone is tender and melodramatic, mixing sadness with romance and quiet devotion. Viewers searching for a sincere arabic family drama with a coma wake up premise and a romantic caregiver bond will find its emotional register familiar, in the spirit of Grey's Anatomy and the gentler melodrama of Extraordinary Attorney Woo.
