## Synopsis

Blood Ties (2007-2008) is a Canadian-American supernatural crime drama series created by Peter Mohan, based on the Blood Books by Tanya Huff, and aired on Lifetime and in Canada on Citytv and Space. Christina Cox plays Toronto private investigator Vicki Nelson, who partners with Kyle Schmid as Henry Fitzroy, a centuries-old vampire, and Dylan Neal as police detective Mike Celluci. Their engine is simple and effective: Vicki wants to protect the city from things that go bump in the night, while the three must balance human justice with the hunger and secrets of a vampire living among them. Each episode tends to be a case of the week, with cases about monsters, murders, and unsavory figures in the city, while a slow-building romance and friendship thread through the two seasons. The show was a two-season run of twenty-two episodes, sharing its premise with the earlier Forever Knight. The tone is moody and romantic, with noir-tinged atmosphere, wry banter, and a contemporary urban setting. Fans of Forever Knight, Moonlight and Angel will find resonance in its blend of vampire mythology, police work, and emotional tension.
