## Synopsis

Brain Games (2011-2020) is an American factual science series created for National Geographic, presented as a documentary-style reality format. Hosts Jason Silva, Neil Patrick Harris, and Keegan-Michael Key, with Cara Santa Maria appearing across many episodes, guide viewers through interactive experiments, misdirection, and stage-style tricks that expose how memory, sensory perception, and attention shape what we think we see. Each hour-long episode is built around a set of audience-facing demonstrations and volunteer challenges, showing that the brain fills gaps, misreads patterns, and can be fooled with ease. Across eight seasons and roughly sixty-five episodes, the format stays consistent: a question about the mind, a series of staged tests, and an explanation of the cognitive mechanism behind each result. The tone is playful, curious, and accessible, closer to a hands-on science show than a lecture, with a sense of wonder about how little of reality we actually register. Viewers who enjoy MythBusters, Mind Field, and other science entertainment that turns experiments into spectacle will find the same appeal here, suited to family viewing and casual curiosity alike.
