## Synopsis

Nicolas Le Floch (2008-2018) is a French national-television period crime series created by Hugues Pagan for France 2. Jérôme Robart plays Nicolas Le Floch, a brilliant young police commissioner in 1761 Paris who works under the Royal Lieutenant General of Police, Monsieur de Sartine, played by François Caron. Mathias Mlekuz plays his faithful subordinate Inspector Pierre Bourdeau, whose partnership drives the investigations. The engine of the show is simple and concrete: mysterious disappearances, murders, and awkward scandals spread through the royal court of Louis XV, and Nicolas must chase them through aristocratic salons, rough city streets, and the palace's hidden corridors while protecting his position. Each episode is a self-contained case threaded through a season-long conspiracy story, told across six seasons and sixteen episodes of 45 minutes. Set in pre-revolutionary Paris, the series balances brisk investigative momentum with a melancholic, atmospheric sense of an ancien regime on the edge. Fans of Ripper Street, Murdoch Mysteries and Taggart will find resonance in its period detail, moral unease, and procedural pleasure.
