## Synopsis

Intelligence (2006-2007) is a Canadian crime drama series created by Chris Haddock for CBC Television. Ian Tracey plays Jimmy Reardon, one of Vancouver's top organized crime bosses, who is pressed into service as a police informant after Klea Scott's Mary Spalding, director of the Vancouver Organized Crime Unit, offers him immunity from prosecution. Matt Frewer co-stars as Ted Altman, adding weight to the shifting loyalties at the heart of the show. Reardon's engine is a constant balancing act: he must feed the police enough to stay protected while keeping his criminal empire, and his own skin, intact among rival gangsters and corrupt associates. The series runs for two seasons and twenty-five episodes, each built around the tense exchange of information, the risk of exposure, and the grinding logistics of a double life. Set in present-day Vancouver, it has a gritty, rain-soaked tone where moral compromise and paranoia accumulate steadily. Its mood is hard-edged and procedural, with a sharp dose of wit in its banter. Fans of The Shield and The Wire will find resonance in its portrait of police and criminals entangled in the same dirty business.
