## Synopsis

Good Guys (2005) is a Romanian police drama miniseries created by Andrei Boncea for Pro TV. Across eight hour-long episodes, it follows two police inspectors, led by Detective Iulian Filipache (Ion Grosu), as they work to bring down a far-reaching criminal network. Lawyer Corina Marcu (Anne Marie Paraschivescu) moves through the legal world surrounding the case, while Prosecutor Cornel Caragea (Răzvan Vasilescu) and Razvan Dragomir (Ștefan Bănică Jr.) add pressure from the institutions above and beside the investigators. The engine is steady: each episode tightens the net around the organization while the detectives struggle against informants, compromised officials and the risk of their own exposure. The story is a limited series with a single arc, sustained by surveillance, interrogation and courtroom confrontation rather than case-of-the-week episodes. Set in contemporary Romania during the early years of its post communist democracy, the show carries a gritty, tense atmosphere in which trust is scarce and every lead can turn. Fans of The Wire, Gomorra and Romanzo criminale will find resonance in its grounded crime world and its portrait of institutions bending under criminal influence.
